KUCHING: A high-end Siong How Exclusive, the first for the brand, will open at La Promenade Mall in July.
It will be the homegrown electrical and homewares franchise’s 14th outlet statewide, and the beginning of its new “Siong How Exclusive” branding.
At over 12,000sqft, Siong How Exclusive will occupy one-third of the mall’s level three.
Fitting out works for the new Siong How Exclusive is in the final stages.
“Siong How Exclusive will add significantly to La Promenade Mall’s Home section, which also has Mr DIY, The Bath Shop and Hoan Gallery,” Hock Seng Lee (HSL) executive director Tony Yu said.
“Siong How is already the largest electrical and home appliance store in Sarawak, and we are especially pleased they’re building a new premium outlet at La Promenade.
“There is great synergy between Siong How Exclusive and La Promenade, which is Sarawak’s largest gated community. We’ll be collaborating closely with home buyers and shoppers on the best deals.”
Siong How Exclusive will feature brands including Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Electrolux, Midea, Haier, Faber and Alpha.
Brands like Electrolux, Midea and Haier are creating special concept stores within the new Exclusive outlet.

“Retail has changed a lot in the last few years,” Siong How Exclusive managing director Lo Kok How said.
“Physical stores can offer services and hands-on demonstrations. Making decisions like which aircon to purchase, which TV size, trying out new features is much easier and stress-free when you can talk to a professional sales and service personnel.
“This is why a lot of technology brands including Apple insist on having physical stores: for hands-on demos, for after-sales service.”
As a tenant of HSL’s mall, Siong How will be part of the developer’s upcoming sales events, from festive season promos to showhouses.
The brand has already taken part in a HSL Raya Property Fair, and is currently in talks for year-end property fairs.
La Promenade is located along the busy Kuching-Samarahan Expressway. Strategically, it is equal distance from the airport, city centre and public universities like Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.
The 200acre development is HSL’s flagship and is master planned to be a township within a park. Significantly, it is the first and only real estate to win the industry’s trifecta of awards for landscaping, architectural and recognition from developer’s association.
La Promenade Mall is the commercial focal point of the estate, housing several other well-established Sarawak brands such as Black Bean Coffee & Tea, Foo Man Ting, SugarBun, Hoan Gallery, Rice King and Zoro.
Besides Siong How, HSL’s leasing team is expected to announce another major tenant on L2, the food and entertainment section of the mall, in the next few months.
An expansion of the mall together with apartments is in the planning stages.
